She stil loves Michael

I decided to read this book after viewing Tatiana on the web discussing Michael's passing and their relationship. The book was well written and informative. Some accounts of Tatiana's earlier career were obviously exaggerated. She claimed to be a "super model" in Japan for five years, but after Michael fired her from the Bad Tour, she complained about never having made $40K during her career. In fact, she was a part time model and hostess, and was doing the latter when she auditioned for the video.
The most enjoyable part of the book was the making of the video and the tours. She obviously enjoyed her far more than fifteen minutes of fame and the five star life style. She saw herself as a star, but she was really just perfectly cast, high profile eye candy; nonetheless, her contribution to the video was significant. Being trained in ballet, she had a lot of unrealized potential; it would have been nice to see her dance with Michael. Also, it must have been difficult being around all the affluence and viewed that way herself, when in reality she was struggling economically.
After meeting Michael, it quickly became obvious that Tatiana was almost obsessively infatuated. Sadly, their "relationship" existed only in her imagination. There were no dates or non business interactions between them; there was only one phone conversation that she had to practically beg Michael's secretary for days to arrange and it lasted only a few minutes. It was painful reading her subliminal inferences to Michael's "feelings" based on his gestures and double meanings to what he was actually saying. There was no limit to what she wouldn't do to get Michael, but I sensed it was more than money. She seemed to be genuinely in love with Michael ,or more likely his image, since she didn't really know him.
Despite her unwillingness to see and accept the fact that Michael wasn't interested, its difficult not to like Tatiana and sympathize with her experiences. Her trusting nature made her very vulnerable in the cut throat world of entertainment and she paid dearly. She never really had a chance with Michael, a "man" who preferred the company of his pet chimp Bubbles, over a beautiful, intelligent and compassionate woman like Tatiana. On the positive side, she is a very recognizable part of Michael's history.
Many years later, Tatiana finally "moved on" with her life. In the web video after Michael's passing, her eyes welled up with tears when she talked about the period when she was a part of Michael's life and how she was treated. Its been twenty years and I don't think she will ever really get over Michael.

A Painful Read

After reading the reviews, I finally decided to buy the book. I've always liked Tatiana, I think she is beautiful and most likely very talented but she made a complete fool of herself in this "memoir." First of all she sounds subliminally cocky. She lists the remarks that people make on her beauty and consistently refers to her "exotic" beauty and seems to almost brag about how thin she is. Second, anyone who reads the book will see clearly that she made herself out to be very fanatical. With Miko Brando being Micheal's assistant, why would she even for a second think that he was not relaying everything she said back to MJ. Michael probably thought she was off her rocker the way she spoke of this "true love" she felt for a man that she had barely met. Third, according to her, Michael never expressed any interest in her and everything she heard was through the grapevine. I cringed every time she referenced his playful flirting and referred to it as "love". Fourth, I do not believe she ever got over him. For a man who supposedly treated you so wrong and left you financially in need and emotionally distraught, with thoughts of suicide, I could not imagine defending him. According to her, she owed Michael NOTHING. He humiliated her in front of an awards show audience, and even asked specifically not to her before the show. I think Tatiana brought a lot on herself and refuses to realize that she may have crossed some boundaries that Michael did not like. Where she went wrong was pursuing Michael. If he really wanted her, he would have pursued her and maybe..just maybe The Way He Made Her Feel would not have been pathetic.

could NOT put the book down!!!!!!

I wish there was more to read. I'm a big MJ fan. I loved Tatiana in the video, "The Way you Make Me Feel". I could so identify with her on so many levels. She's beautiful inside and out (from what I read); she's an old soul; she loves hard, and doesn't give up. She fell for MJ hard. I'll amdit, I was 11 years old when that album came out. MJ was my first love. He was the first guy to get my little heart pounding at the time. This book shows you a side to MJ that will shock you...well, it shocked me. Seems to me that his entorrage where money grabbing people who just cared controlling MJ. She also explains how fake, backstabbing and materialistic Hollywood really is. She's even bold enough to talk about how other very famous stars treated her. Well, I would love to go on and on about this book, but it would ruin it for the rest of you. These is a great read if you're interested in what this young lady went through in her short career with MJ. Back in '87, I thought they made the cutest couple. I know many girls are very jealous of her because she's so beautiful, so jealous chicks will laugh at her while reading this book and say that she's "sad" or "pathetic" or chasing something that MJ wasn't interested in....whatever jealous SHARKS like to say best. I thought she is just a girl who was innocent; went into showbiz green; and needed a LOYAL and STRONG and EXPERIENCED manager. If she had that, she probably would have had Michael and her millions that she worked hard for. It's all about WHO you know, and there is not too many people loyal people out there especially in showbiz. Enjoy this book as you read it. It teaches you some lessons in life like the sweetest kindest people can almost hurt you really bad!
