Christine Leon de Mariz was a Senior Economist at the World Bank and has more than a decade of experience in international development. She managed projects focusing on institution, governance, and public finance in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Christine is a graduate of Sciences-Po Paris, holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Paris (Pantheon-Sorbonne), and was a fellow at Harvard University.


Claude Menard is Professor of Economics at the University of Paris (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and affiliated to the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne. He graduated from the University of Montreal in Canada and completed his PhD at the Sorbonne. He has been visiting professor in numerous universities worldwide, has published extensively in international journals, and has worked as consultant for several international organizations and governments, mainly on issues of reform in network infrastructures and institutional changes. He has been co-editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization for over ten years, and is a co-founder with Ronald Coase, Douglas North, Oliver Williamson and others of the International Society for New Institutional Economics. He is also co-founder and member of the board of the Ronald Coase Institute.

Bernard Abeille is a Public Procurement Specialist who initially worked in the private sector in major infrastructure and city planning programs, 10 years in French Aid abroad, and more than 30 years at the World Bank. He has been head of the procurement family for the Africa region and has assumed important responsibility in the World Bank Procurement Board. He initiated major procurement reforms and played a major role in the working group that issued the OECD Procurement Base-Line Indicators which are now applied worldwide to evaluate national procurement systems. Since he retired, he has been a consultant for the World Bank, African Development Bank, Millennium Challenge Corporation, Agence Francaise de Developpement, and Inter-American Development Bank, and has been involved in numerous training programs to develop capacity in developing countries. His academic background is in architecture, city planning, legal aspects of construction and regional development.

About the Author
Emma Farrarons, a French illustrator and graphic designer, is the author of the Mindfulness Coloring series. Born on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, Emma grew up in Paris. She was trained in illustration at the Edinburgh College of Art and l’�cole nationale sup�rieure des Arts D�coratifs. Having completed a textile and printmaking course at Capellag�rden school in Sweden, she has developed a particular love for pattern and fabric print and is inspired by French, Scandinavian, and Japanese design. She illustrates and designs books, posters, and stationery. When she is not drawing and designing, Emma enjoys cooking, sewing, travel, and practicing mindfulness. She lives in London with her Danish husband.

Disappointing Biography In Need of Structure

“Who Is Donald Trump?" is a below average brief biography of billionaire Donald J. Trump. This book is part of the series of short biographies of the candidates running in 2016. This progressive-minded reviewer will illustrate as fairly as possible the positives and negatives of this book. This succinct 31-page book includes five chapters, a resources link section, and The Who is Biography Information Series.

Positives:
1. A quick way to get a feel for each candidate. Sweet and to the point.
2. The candidates make for an interesting topic.
3. A look at his childhood and upbringing. “Donald was an ordinary boy, full of energy and childish interest in the surrounding world.”
4. Interesting unexpected tidbits. Find out what sports the young Trump participated in.
5. His educational background.
6. A look at the family business.
7. The New York real estate business. A look at the winning aspects of Trump’s list of achievements.
8. A look at his personal life.
9. Plenty of quotes that reflect who Mr. Trump is. “As long as you’re going to be thinking anyway, think big.”

In summary, there are far better books and ways to learn about Donald J. Trump’s life and political aspirations. I like the concept of the series but the execution and editorial choices were disappointing to say the least. As of this review the book was available for free via Kindle Unlimited. Below average.

"Without Passion You Don't Have Energy, Without Energy You Have Nothing"

Being an entrepreneur myself the words I put in the title are exactly true. Of course I am not as famous as Donald Trump or never will be but you do need passion and Tag has captured the passion of this man in his latest book Who Is Donald Trump? Like many immigrants Donald's father had to change his name and thank goodness he did. What if it had been Donald Drumpf!
It seems that he was a natural in real estate and his father commented "Everything he touches turns to gold." and with his philosophy about fate, there was no stopping this man.
It should be interesting to see what the Americans do in the next election, I mean they elected Arnold! They could use a tough businessman to get things back on track but seeing them vote George Bush Jr. in twice I doubt that this will happen.
Interesting as usual, If you want to know about the candidates I would check out all the latest "Who Is" books by Tag, I know I am!

The Genius Who Invented the Jet Age

Aside from the British English coloquialisms and their maddening propensity to use plural verbs for singular nouns, this is an outstanding story of the man who fought a persistent lack of leadership, lack of vision, lack of support, and lack of honor by a bureaucratic and Machiavellian government. The Britsh government in World War II almost actively worked against the efforts of this genius, nationalized (read stole) the company he established to research and develop jet engines, gave his invention away to America, and gave him a paltry award for his efforts. The vision, leadership, guidance, and thankless labors of Sir Frank Whittle advanced the science of jet propulsion to unbelievable levels. His first patent on the engine existed before (and was probably reviewed by) Ohain in Germany, who although talented and gifted, did not co-invent the gas turbine engine. Aside from all that, this book is entirely engrossing and gives a non-biased account of the steps leading up to the invention of the gas turbine engine and the man whose genius, herculian work, and single-mindedness was totally responsible for ushering in the jet age. He should be praised and recognized much more than he has been by the British government - whose subject he was - as well as the US government who were enabled entry into the jet age much earlier than they would have, when they were given the invention for free (thanks to Hap Arnold for his foresight). Get the book, read it, and prepare to be amazed.

Jet Engine History Revealed!

If you are an aficionado of turbine engine history you owe it to yourself to find out how it all started. John Golley gives an exhaustive account of Frank Whittle's struggle to develop and perfect the first jet aero engine. The technical difficulties are discussed, but the emphasis is on Whittle's battles with the British government over private versus government control of patents, R&D funding, and development work. It also illustrates how war-time necessities can actually delay experimental work when priorities are placed on existing technology (i.e. piston engines). Well written with great detail on who, what, where, and when. Working in the engineering field myself, I would have liked to have more detail on the "nuts & bolts", but this is a minor complaint. There is more than enough detail in this area for the average reader.

Depressing story of beaurocracy at its worst...

I found the book interesting however if you're hoping for a good explanation of the JET engine, the developments and aircraft, this book is NOT for you. Not enough meat, diagrams or pictures. See instead other works like Klaus Hunecke's excellent book "Jet Engines".
If you're an avid historian and want to know how a visionary RAF officer/engineer worked himself to near death for little reward or advancement within a government system that tried hard to stymie him at every step, this is indeed a moving,fascinating and somewhat depressing book... they even gave his engines away to the Russians and Americans.

Brownian Motion Calculus

Brownian Motion Calculus presents the basics of Stochastic Calculus with a focus on the valuation of financial derivatives. It is intended as an accessible introduction to the technical literature. The sequence of chapters starts with a description of Brownian motion, the random process which serves as the basic driver of the irregular behaviour of financial quantities. That exposition is based on the easily understood discrete random walk. Thereafter the gains from trading in a random environment are formulated in a discrete-time setting. The continuous-time equivalent requires a new concept, the Itō stochastic integral. Its construction is explained step by step, using the so-called norm of a random process (its magnitude), of which a motivated exposition is given in an Annex. The next topic is Itō’s formula for evaluating stochastic integrals; it is the random process counter part of the well known Taylor formula for functions in ordinary calculus. Many examples are given. These ingredients are then used to formulate some well established models for the evolution of stock prices and interest rates, so-called stochastic differential equations, together with their solution methods. Once all that is in place, two methodologies for option valuation are presented. One uses the concept of a change of probability and the Girsanov transformation, which is at the core of financial mathematics. As this technique is often perceived as a magic trick, particular care has been taken to make the explanation elementary and to show numerous applications. The final chapter discusses how computations can be made more convenient by a suitable choice of the so-called numeraire. A clear distinction has been made between the mathematics that is convenient for a first introduction, and the more rigorous underpinnings which are best studied from the selected technical references. About the Author
UBBO WIERSEMA was educated in Applied Mathematics at Delft, in Operations Research at Berkeley, and in Financial Economics and Financial Mathematics at the London School of Economics. He joined The Business School for Financial Markets (the ICMA Centre) at the University of Reading, UK, in 1997, to develop and teach its curriculum in Quantitative Finance. Prior to that, he was a derivatives mathematician at the merchant bank Robert Fleming in the City of London. Before that his career was focused in Operations Research in the US and Europe.

much needed missing link

This is an awesome book!

It follows a non-rigorous (non measure-theoretic) approach to brownian motion/SDEs, similar in that respect to the traditional calculus textbook approach. The author provides plenty of intuition behind results, plenty of drills and generally solves problems without jumping any intermediate step.

I have read most books of the kind and this one is clearly the best. It is suitable for undergraduate education, namely in engineering and in finance. It may be a bit on the light side for maths undergrads, although could be used for a light intro to these topics.

Excellent Introduction Without the Abstract Math Approach

This is really the best introduction book on the subject matter I have ever read. If you are not a current student in shool or newly graduate with math training, or a math teacher, but have some general college math training then this book is the best introduction for you on this subject. Although I had read some basic abstract math starting with the set theory long time ago, it took me too much time to proceed in reading standard intro math to financial engineering. Thanks to the author's introduction, when I come back to those FE math it feels SO easy now.

excellent introduction

i have some familiarity regarding brownian motion. Many stochastic calculus books go into deep mathematical reasoning. I really enjoyed the authors approach to the problem. This is clearly the way one should start into the subject prior to starting an MFE program. Then after reading the book, one can read the book by sean dineen etc or other stochastic calculus books which go into more rigorous detail. This book must not be missed by any chance. It will give you an edge in MFE programs knowing this material. He has written this book in the same style as many calculus books which is very helpful. Once you master this book, you can go into a move proof based subject matter.

About the Author
Lawrence E. Sullivan is currently President and CEO of The Fetzer Institute. He continues as Professor of World Religion at Notre Dame, has served as director of Harvard's Center for the Study of World Religions, and is past president of the AAR (1996). Author of numerous books and winner of several fellowships, Sullivan was Associate Editor of the fifteen-volume Encyclopedia of Religion and helped establish the Museum of World Religions in Taiwan.

Forays into the Theory of Physics

Marian Apostol demonstrates here again to me that he is a tempered director of research, neither afraid of orthodoxy nor avoidant of novelty. I am satisfied by the ample demonstration here that he does not fall into the trap of establishment anti-intellectualism. He does not "Shut up and calculate." Instead he is eager to relate each of these articles and the whole collection to the philosophical quest that goes back to the classical Greeks: what is change?

The great theme in these forays is the variational principle; for real physics, the action is at a stationary point. He can then, for instance, show how inevitably results from this classical principle convert into the domain of quantum effects; the Unruh effect (the temperature of an apparently accelerated vacuum) is implied as a matter of course. I am reminded for myself that this variational principle is equivalent to the main result in the physics of geometry, that sources of gravity travel along geodesics.

This collection of essays makes for an important resource after the main text in an advanced course on theoretical physics.

Ethics

I found this book a very interesting read. The most important aspect of the text is the wide ranging perceptions and ideologies of so many people in the world. I feel that as we try to understand the psychological make-up of the world and the decisions that we have made through the centuries then this id definitely the book to help assist in the review of the decisions that we have made.

The book was part of my ethics class and the class interaction with regards to the text was probably the most important part of the entire course. I would encourage all readers work through the questions and worksheets at the end of each chapter. It just helps clarify your thoughts and understanding of the work that is discussed in each chapter.

Whenever I study a text about ethics I expect to hear that religion should not be the only basis for having good moral or ethics. Thiroux and Krasemann were no exception While I disagree with this opinion the authors did make a case that all can and should have ethical training and that it should be in the home as a start but should also come from our educators. Well written. If you're religious don't be offended. I wasn't. The book was delivered on time and in good shape

After: Tessa, una ni�a buena de pueblo peque�o conoce al "enigm�tico" Hardin, un gal�n con tatuajes, mala actitud y un "pasado de tormento", al emprender un nuevo camino tras comenzar su vida universitaria. Despu�s de ires y venires, Tessa y Hardin comienzan una turbulenta relaci�n que los pondr� a prueba.

La verdad no s� por donde comenzar.

Cuando un libro est� bien redactado, bien editado, cuando siento que el escritor sabe lo que hace; incluso si no me gusta el libro como tal, siempre le doy tres estrellas, debido a que la percepci�n buena o mala de la trama es completamente subjetiva y va m�s all� de la literatura y la gram�tica, va hasta los gustos individuales de una persona, y solo porque un libro no me guste, no implica que sea malo. Bueno... este lo es.

No criticar� la trama. Hay miles, cientos de miles, infinidad de libros basados en el mismo tema, una y otra y otra vez. Ni�a buena, conoce ni�o malo, se enamoran, ella quiere cambiarlo, �l no se deja hasta que si se deja (o ella se conforma) y vivieron felices por siempre.

Dejar� de lado lo t�xica que es la relaci�n entre Tessa y Hardin y me enfocar� netamente en la parte literaria.

De un tiempo para ac�, se ha perdido el arte de la prosa, se dej� a un lado todos y cada uno de los elementos que conforman un escrito literario, y se enfoc� m�s en alcanzar p�blico con palabras que no a�aden nada a la historia, mal utilizadas y situaciones absurdas. Eso dio como resultado que se publicara este libro. La verdad, me gustar�a saber si este libro pas� por un editor, debido a que encuentro errores gram�ticos que son imperdonables, signos de puntuaci�n mal utilizados, signos de puntuaci�n faltantes, palabras que no cuadran en la prosa y se sienten extremadamente forzadas y, como ya es costumbre, la redundancia.
La descripci�n de personajes tiende a ser muy superficial y muchos de los eventos son bastante predecibles.

Tessa tiene problemas de codependencia y una necesidad de aceptaci�n por los dem�s bastante molesta para un "personaje principal". Por otro lado, mi mayor problema con Hardin, es que si bien no es un Marty-Stu, es aterrador lo predecible y superficial que su personaje es, especialmente cuando no es la intenci�n de la autora. Intenta darle una profundidad y complejidad, y lo que termina haciendo es quitarle credibilidad y patrones de conducta. Si tienes que hacer que tu personaje no sea consistente consigo mismo para darle "profundidad", hay algo malo con tu personaje.

Honestamente, no puedo decir m�s sin meterme directamente en la trama, y dije que no lo har�a. Termin� el libro porque considero un pecado empezar uno y abandonarlo, pero juro que estuve a punto de ceder.

No me gusto para nada. Creo que en wattpad hay historias que tienen mejor trama y originalidad y se merecen estar en papel. After es una historia con una trama que es mas de lo mismo. Ya las novelas er�ticas aburren y mas si la trama no esta del todo desarrollada.

Lo m�s horrible, porquer�a, mierda qu� pueda existir en el mundo. Denigra a na mujer hasta lo m�s bajo. Una protagonista sin sentido ni realidad ni valor por si misma.
El protagonista lo m�s asqueroso que existe, dan nauseas, v�mito, toda la historia en s�.
Disculpen las palabras pero no se puede describir esto de forma adecuada y decente.
