About the Author
General J.J. Singh, a highly decorated soldier, has served as the chief of army staff and the chairman of the chiefs of staff committee. During his forty-seven year stint in the army, he commanded two infantry battalions, and was closely associated with the planning and execution of the Kargil War at the army headquarters. After retirement, he was appointed as the governor of Arunachal Pradesh and has has received a number of civilian honours and awards for his outstanding leadership.

Engaging and an Easy Read

A Soldier's General is written in an easy to read style that takes the reader through the author's journey - his humble beginnings, from cadetship to the pinnacle of a four-star general of the Indian army. In the novel, the reader gets insights into an army life that was lived to its fullest. General J.J. Singh's experiences with military operations in the North and Northeast, his passion for his work and his love for his army brethren as a soldier and a leader is eloquently captured. His work as the People's governor in Arunachal Pradesh provides brilliant insights into his leadership as a change agent that is shaping the course of a state which has not seen much progress in the last 20 years. This book is a must read!

I sincerely believe that this book can make one realize how hard work is important to one's growth, I found this book to be an easy read with lots of twists.
